Derrick Pottle carries a pair of sealskin boots down a ladder in his shed in Rigolet while preparing for a hunting trip out on the northern coast of Labrador on Monday, March 26, 2018.
Like generations of Inuit before him, Pottle is a trapper and hunter. Almost all of the food he eats he either kills, harvests or catches himself. His diet of wild game, salmon, berries, trout and seal would be remarkably unchanged from that of his ancestors who were living in Hamilton Inlet around 8,000 years ago.
